“I’m pretty and I’m smart. I’m a catch!”
One more left to go darlings! :-) We finalize our series of posts on fashion inspired by the girls from “Sex and the City” with the adorable, kind, polite hopelessly romantic and elegant Charlotte. Although some of her statements on the TV show made us say: “Ooooooh… darling…!”:-) and lead to an impression that she was naive or overly idealistic when it came to love, Charlotte was actually very determined. She simply wasn’t ready to settle for anything less then a picture-perfect life! And that’s something we all deserve – right?!:-) This classic beauty was also famous for her polished appearance.
“I want to enjoy my success, not apologize for it.”
A successful and smart lawyer, an absolutely independent woman that doesn’t apologize for her life choices, the one among the four girls that was always the most sarcastic, pragmatic and that always stood with both feet on the ground. That was Miranda Hobbes… at the first glance. But when you took a closer look darlings, Miranda was also a true softy that always had her friend’s and close one’s best interests at heart and of course – she was fashion-crazy. Not that she would ever admit it. ;-)
“I like my money where I can see it – hanging in my closet.”
Today darlings, we’ll be talking about the style of the fashionable and witty Carrie Bradshaw. If you can recall, she was the star of the show and an absolute fashion icon – and that for a reason. If she wasn’t dreaming of her Mr. Big, she spent her time writing her famous column, partying the night away in some of the famous New York clubs, shoe-shopping, or spending time with her girlfriends, talking about men, love and single girl’s life.
“Let it go! If I worried what everyone in the city had to say about me, I’d never leave the house.”
It’s autumn time and for me, once more, it means that I pull out some of my favorite TV shows from my DVD and Blue-ray collection and enjoy the crisp evenings in good company of Rachel and Joey from “Friends”, the “2 broke girls”, and of course the “WUNDERBAR four”: Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte. :-)
For some September or even late August is the time for going back to school, but “my school” starts at the beginning of October. The corridors and stairs get crowded, everywhere you can hear discussions and laughter, a lots of new and a few familiar faces of which some look a bit anxious and insecure and others brim over with confidence, the lecture halls are starting to fill up… That’s right darlings – the new academic year at the university begins.
Ah Rome… the eternal city. The Colosseum, Forum Romanum, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza Navona, Vatican… If you haven’t visited Rome, you’ve seen the pictures of these magnificent sights and read about them. Aaaand…, if you’ve been to Rome at least once, you’ve probably seen the majority, or all of them, since they are rather nearby to one another. But Rome darlings, it’s just so much more… :-)
I love the way Romans are dressed. Men and woman. The majority looks so incredibly fashionable!:-) And although putting those outfits together looks like some hard piece of work – they all still look and wear them so effortless.
Remember the movie “Roman Holiday” with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck? Who of you darlings didn’t want to be her – a young princess exploring a magical city – and who didn’t have a crush on Gregory as a kid, please raise your hand? One, two, I see three there, oh… no that wasn’t a hand… Anyone else? No? Not so many I would say. ;-)
If you grew up in the 80s or the 90s you must have had at least one pair of jeans and a matching jacket to go with it, right darlings? Remember? :-) The jeans had a straight leg, were kind of rather masculine and without a form, or – even worse – they were stone washed. The jacket was also very boxy and you were truly cool only if its fabric had the same tone as the ones of the pants. We all looked like soldiers ready to defend our king and leader Levi Strauss, if necessary. ;-)
When I was in the sixth grade, right before the biology class, a few of my classmates and I were goofing around and chasing each other through the classroom. In one moment, one of the kids pushed the heavy wooden class table and that thing fell on my left foot like a tree trunk and broke all five of my toes. That was the best thing that could’ve happened to me that year darlings! :-D
